Many provisions in the new Republican budget are popular with voters.

For instance, 64% favor ending Medicaid funding for illegal immigrants and requiring all who want Medicaid to work if they are able.

On another top issue, 64% favor increasing funding to secure the southern border.

Here are a few others:

    • Seventy-eight percent (78%) favor making tips and overtime pay tax free.
    • Seventy-seven percent (77%) favor increasing the child tax credit by $500 to $2500.
    • Seventy-six percent (76%) favor require those who are able to work or seek work in order to receive food stamps.


The most recent data cited is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen May 28-29, 2025. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. and has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
