  • This week, just one quarter (25%) of registered voters rate the economy as Good or Excellent, down 3 points from 2 weeks ago, and down 1 point from a month ago.
    • Forty-two percent (42%) rate the economy as Poor, down 2 points from 2 weeks ago and a month ago.
    • One third (36%) of Republicans say the economy is Good or Excellent, down 6 points from 2 weeks ago and way down from the 54% of Republicans who said the same in late March.
    • This week, 27% of Republican voters say the economy is Poor. This is up 3 points from 2 weeks ago.
    • Democratic voters' views are extremely pessimistic: only 17% say the economy is Good or Excellent, while 56% say it is Poor.
  • Only 23% of voters say the economy is getting better, down 1 point from 2 weeks ago.
    • A solid majority (57%) say the economy is getting worse, down 3 points from 2 weeks ago.
    • Thirty-eight percent (38%) of Republicans say it is getting better, and 36% say it is getting worse.
    • Even more pessimistic, 73% of Democrats say the economy is getting worse, and just 12% say it is getting better.

This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, May 26-27, 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
