The number of voters saying the Trump deportations have gone too far has increased to 40%. That's up five from 35% from early April and up eleven from 29% early March, and is a double-digit plurality.
Still, a Napolitan News Service poll found that a slightly larger number (49%) say either that the deportations have not gone far enough or that the pace is about right. Seventy-five percent (75%) of Republicans fall into one of these categories. Sixty-two percent (62%) of Democrats say deportations have gone too far.
Fifty-one percent (51%) support arresting a state or local government official who helps an illegal immigrant avoid arrest and deportation. Twenty-four percent (24%) disagree. Republicans support arresting such an official by a 76% to 13% margin. Democrats are more evenly divided (32% favor, 39% oppose).
The most recent data cited is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen April 28-29, 2025. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. and has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
