  • Forty-two percent (42%) of voters favor the new restrictions the Pentagon has placed on journalists, while 51% are opposed.
    • Those numbers include 18% who Strongly Favor the restrictions and 32% who are Strongly Opposed.
    • Seventy-two percent (72%) of voters who favor Trump-like policies have a favorable opinion of the measures, compared to half (50%) of those who prefer traditional Republican policies.
    • Among those who prefer Democratic policies, there is almost no divide: 18% of voters who prefer policies similar to Alexandia Ocasio-Cortez favor the policy, along with just 16% of those who favor policies of a traditional Democrat.
  • Just 29% say that news outlets losing access to the Pentagon will be good for America.
    • A majority (52%) say it will be bad, while 14% say it will be Neither Good Nor Bad.
    • Those totals include 15% who say it will be Very Good, while 32% say it will be Very Bad.
    • Democrats overwhelmingly say it will be bad by a 69% to 18% margin.
    • Republicans are more divided: 42% say it will be good, 32% say bad, and 20% say it will be Neither Good Nor Bad.


This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, October 22, 2025. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
