  • In terms of personal finances, 33% of registered voters say they are better off than they were a year ago, and 10% say they are Much Better Off.
    • Four in 10 (39%) say they are worse off, with 16% saying they are Much Worse Off.
    • About one quarter (27%) say they are About the Same.
    • Voters said virtually the same last December 2024.
    • Being the party currently in power, Republicans are more optimistic as shown by more Republicans (46%) than Democrats (25%) saying their personal finances were better than a year ago.
  • Looking ahead, 50% say their personal finances will be better next year at this time.
    • Sixteen percent (16%) say their finances will be Much Better.
    • Twenty-three percent (23%) are not so optimistic and say their finances will be worse, with 7% believing they will be Much Worse.
    • Another 23% don't see much of a change and say their personal finances will be About the Same next year.
    • More Republicans (63%) than Democrats (37%) say their personal finances will be better a year from now.


This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, December 20, 2025. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
