  • More than half (56%) of registered voters say that the United States should support Greenland in its bid for independence.
    • Only 17% say the U.S. should seek to make Greenland a part of the United States.
    • Last January, only 48% said the U.S. should support Greenland, while 16% said Greenland should become part of the United States.
    • A majority of Republicans (57%) and Democrats (58%) agree with supporting Greenland's independence.
    • But more Republicans (23%) than Democrats (11%) say the U.S. should seek to make Greenland part of the United States.
  • However, if most people living in Greenland wanted to become part of the United States, 66% favor the idea.
    • Still,19% oppose letting Greenland become part of the U.S.
    • More Republicans (83%) than Democrats (54%) favor the idea of letting Greenland become part of the U.S. if most Greenlanders want that.


This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, January 7-8, 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
