  • This week, 27% of voters report following the news of the Iran war Very Closely.
    • That is down from 34% four days ago, and the lowest level of engagement we've seen since the engagement began.
    • It is unclear if this is merely statistical noise. We will know by Thursday, when our next poll on this topic goes out.
  • Forty percent (40%) of voters approve of President Trump's handling of the situation in Iran.
    • That number has hardly moved since the attacks began. The president's supporters are very steady.
    • The total number includes 20% who Strongly Approve of the president's handling of the situation.
  • Fifty-one percent (51%) of voters disapprove the president's handling of the situation in Iran.
    • That is down from 60% in our previous survey.
    • Thirty-seven percent (37%) of voters Strongly Disapprove of the president's handling of the situation in Iran.
  • Similarly, 39% of voters favor the attacks on Iran, while 50% oppose them.
    • These numbers include 20% who Strongly Favor them and 34% who Strongly Oppose them.
  • While it is possible the softer disapproval numbers in this survey reflect a change of attitude, it is also possible that the changes simply come from the lower number reporting following the story Very Closely. Voters who are not following as closely are far more likely to respond Not Sure regarding their opinion.

One thing is clear: the war has affected voters' perceptions of their personal finances. If the personal finance numbers continue in this direction, Democrats will have a very good night in November.

This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, March 16-17, 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
