  • Seventy-two percent (72%) say they plan to do holiday shopping this year.
    • That number is up 2 points from two weeks ago, but still down 9 points from December of 2024.
  • Among those shopping, half (49%) plan to spend about the same as last year, while 33% plan to spend less and 17% plan to spend more.
    • Since November, the number saying they plan to spend more has dropped 5 points, while the number saying they will spend less has gone up 7.
  • About 4 in 10 voters (38%) will be doing at least the majority of their shopping online, while just 14% plan to do most in retail stores.
    • Another 36% say it will be about even.
  • Currently, 20% of voters who said they planned to do shopping this year have not started their holiday shopping.
    • That's down 36% from two weeks ago.
    • Still, just 6% say they have finished all of their holiday shopping, while 25% more have at least half of it done.


This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, December 1-2 2025. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
