This week, economic optimism continued downward, as 24% of registered voters rate the economy as Good or Excellent, down 3 points from 2 weeks ago, and down 5 points from a month ago.
- Thirty-eight percent (40%) rate the economy as Poor, up 2 points from 2 weeks ago.
- A plurality of Republicans (41%) say the economy is Good or Excellent, up 1 point from two weeks ago but still down a whopping 13 points from a month ago.
- This week, 21% of Republican voters say the economy is Poor. This is up 4 points from 2 weeks ago and up 10 points from a month ago.
- Democratic voters' views are extremely pessimistic: only 12% say the economy is Good or Excellent, while 55% say it is Poor.
Only 23% of voters say the economy is getting better, the same number as 2 weeks ago.
- Almost 1 in 6 voters (59%) say the economy is getting worse, up 6 points from 2 weeks ago.
- Forty-three percent (43%) of Republicans say it is getting better, and 33% say it is getting worse.
- Even more pessimistic, 78% of Democrats say the economy is getting worse, and just 8% say it is getting better.

This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, March 30-31, 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
