Just 31% of voters believe President Biden was really in charge during his final year in office. A Napolitan News Survey found that 56% believe decisions were being made by White House staffers. This includes 82% of Republicans and just 32% of Democrats.

Sixty percent (60%) believe there was a coordinated effort to cover up the president's mental and physical decline. Regardless of party affiliation, the strong majority (75%) believe such a coverup is a serious problem.

Just 23% agree with the former president's belief that he could have beaten Donald Trump by staying in the race.

This Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen January 21-22, 2025. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. and has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
