  • Less than 4 in 10 voters invest their money in stocks and other investments.
    • This includes 39% who invest in stocks, and 36% who invest in mutual funds.
    • Fewer voters (24%) invest in bonds, and even fewer invest in cryptocurrency (21%) or precious metals like gold and silver (18%).
    • Just 16% of voters follow the stock market Very Closely.
  • As may be expected, voters making more than $150,000 annually are generally by far the most likely to invest among measured income groups.
    • One interesting exception is in cryptocurrency, where those making $50,000-$75,000 per year are separated from the lead by just a single point.
  • Voters who talk politics every day are far more likely to invest than the average voter, in all categories.
    • Similarly, about two thirds of postgraduates invest in stocks and mutual funds.
    • Republicans are more likely to invest in the stock market than Democrats.

This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, February 2-3, 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
