  • Despite the fact that Christian nationalism has become a hot topic in Washington, just 43% of voters claim they know what the term means.
    • A majority (57%) said they did not know or were Not Sure.
  • Those who said they knew gave six different definitions for the term when asked to define it using their own words. 
    • Answers ranged from "White Supremacy and Racism" to "Extremism and Negative Political Labels," along with "Governance by Christian Principles" and a "Fusion of Patriotism and Faith."
  • Overall, just 9% of voters consider themselves Christian nationalists.
    • The most likely voters in this category were those who Talk Politics Every Day (22%) and voters who prefer Trump-like policies (20%).
  • Among those who claim to know what the term means, most (56%) say Christian Nationalists are bad for America, while 31% say it is good.
    • Those numbers include 42% who say it is Very Bad and 17% who say it is Very Good.


This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, November 19-20, 2025. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
