  • Forty-two percent (42%) of voters say governments do more good through government programs than billionaires who contribute to charities, while 40% disagree.
    • One in 5 (18%) are Not Sure.
    • More than half (56%) of Republicans say billionaires do more good.
    • On the other side of the aisle, 55% of Democrats say governments do more good.
  • Perhaps unsurprsingly, voters who make less than $35,000 per year say the government does more good by a 50% to 30% margin.
    • On the other hand, voters making more than $150,000 per year choose billionaires by a margin of 50% to 37%.
  • In a similar vein, Postgraduate voters say the government does more good than billionaires by a 50% to 38% margin.
    • Fifty-four percent (54%) of government employees agree.
    • However, self-employed voters favor billionaires by a margin of 49% to 37%


This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, March 23-24, 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
