A majority of voters (52%) say the war in Iran will last at least another 6 months. A Napolitan News survey found that number includes 29% who say it will last 6 months and another 23% who say it will last at least a year. Just 28% say the war will last a few months or less.
If those sentiments prove true, the continuing drain on the economy will be devestating for the Republicans in the midterms.
A plurality (44%) of Trump-policy voters say the war will end in a few months or less, but just 28% of Traditional GOP voters agree with them. In fact, even AOC-policy voters are more optimistic than traditional GOP voters: 32% say it will end in a few months or less.
In addition, confidence in success is dwindling: the number saying the U.S. and Israeli attacks are at least Somewhat Likely to overthrow the Iranian government is now down 9 points since the war began, at 44%. Still, voters remain modestly optimistic that Iran will have to give up its nuclear program, with 55% considering it at least Somewhate Likely.
By a 51% to 40% margin, voters oppose increasing the level of attacks on Iran. Two thirds (65%) of Republicans favor the idea, while 73% of Democrats and 64% of independents oppose it.
The opposition is understandable, given that just 32% of voters are confident increased attacks will speed up the end of the conflict.
