  • Currently, 54% of voters say the United States is a Force for Good in the world. Only 19% disagree.
    • Still, the number saying we are a force for good is 9 points lower than in June of 2025, and has been falling steadily from 72% in 2023.
    • Currently, 80% of Republicans consider the U.S. a Force for Good, little changed from June of 2025.
    • Democrats, on the other hand, are undecided: it is generally a three-way split. One third (32%) call us a Force for Good (down 16% points from June), 29% say a Force for Evil, and 31% say the U.S. is Neither.
  • Perceptions of Israel as a Force for Good have also steadily fallen: 29% consider it a Force for Good, while 34% call it a Force for Evil, with 26% saying it is Neither.
    • This is the first time Israel has hit a net negative since we asked in 2023.
    • The number calling Israel a Force for Evil has gone up 8 points from June of 2025, and 20 points from September 2023.
    • The continued trend is likely driven by low opinions of Netanyahu, which has lead many in the U.S. to call for his arrest if he visits.
  • Large majorities (70%) continue to say that Iran and Russia are both forces for Evil in the world.
    • Last June, 66% said the same about Iran, and 67% said the same of Russia.
    • Currently, several other countries are also considered forces for Evil: China (53%), Venezuela (41%), and Cuba (40%).
  • Solid majorities also consider Iran an Russia enemies.
    • More than 7 in 10 voters (72%) say Iran is an Enemy.
    • Two thirds (64%) of voters call Russia an Enemy.
    • Both of these are little changed from June of 2025, but up significantly from September of 2023, when Biden was in office.
    • Venezuela and Cuba are also considered Enemies by 46% and 43% of voters, respectively.
  • China is also viewed as an Enemy by 55%, up 7 points from June 2025 and down 1 point from September 2023.
  • About half of voters (53%) see Israel as an Ally of the United States, while 21% see it as an Enemy.
    • This is largely unchanged from June of 2025.
    • Voters were less likely to call Israel an Ally or an Enemy in 2023.
