10/07/2024

One year after the initial attacks by Hamas on Israel, 61% say the attacks by Hamas were a mistake. The attacks sparked an all out war, killing thousands and leading to unrest across the region.

After abducting more than 250 Israelis, roughly 100 Israelis are still being held hostage. Fifty-one percent (51%) believe it is more important to secure the release of these hostages, while 36% believe it is more important to eliminate the Hamas terrorist threat.

Thirty-nine percent (39%) believe that Palestinians have been shocked by how strongly Israel has responded to these attacks, while 34% believe Israel's response was the reaction Palestinians expected.

Support for Israel has increased among Americans since the beginning of the year, and 84% of US voters believe that Israel has the right to exist.

Please note this survey was conducted prior to last week's attacks on Israel from Iran.
