While the most important economic indicator is whether people believe their own personal finances are getting better or worse, perceptions of the overall economy show similar trends this weekIn a survey conducted just before a judicial panel ruled against Trump's tariff authority, perceptions of the economy had retreated a bit from two weeks ago but remained higher than a month ago.

  • Twenty-eight percent (28%) of voters rated the economy as good or excellent, while 34% said poor.
    • Those figures are a bit more pessimistic than two weeks ago but a bit more optimistic than a month ago.


The most recent data cited is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen May 27-28, 2025. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. and has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
