  • For the second consecutive survey, the approval rating for SCOTUS sits at 41%-- the lowest since December of 2023.
    • Half (50%) of voters disapprove. This is also unchanged since our August survey.
    • Those numbers include 13% who Strongly Approve, but 30% who Strongly Disapprove.
    • Seventy percent (70%) of Republicans approve, while 74% of Democrats disapprove.
  • Voters continue to believe that the court is too conservative rather than too liberal.
    • A plurality (44%) say too conservative, up six points from August.
    • Just 16% say it is too liberal, which is down two points.
    • One quarter (26%) say the ideological balance is about right. Forty-three percent (43%) of Republicans have this view.
  • Voters overwhelmingly believe that, when faced with a dispute between government regulations and individual freedom, the court supports regulation over freedom.
    • Just 17% say the court favors individual freedom more.
    • Forty-five percent (45%) believe it favors government regulations, while 23% say the balance is about right.
    • Republicans are split: 21% say the SCOTUS favors individual freedom, while 33% believe it favors government regulation and another 32% say the balance is about right.
    • Democrats overwhelmingly believe the court favors government regulations by a 57% to 15% margin.


The most recent data cited is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen September 16-17, 2025. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. and has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
