President Trump recently invoked an 18th century wartime regulation to deport members of a violent Venezuelan gang. Fifty-four percent (54%) support President Trump's decision, and nearly two out of three Americans (63%) believe it is fair to say the U.S. is fighting a war against illegal immigration.

Among those who believe we are fighting a war, 73% favor Trump's use of an 18th century law.

The Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters nationwide was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen March 24-25, 2025. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. and has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
