As Scott Rasmussen noted in today's Morning Briefing, those who talk about politics every day or nearly every day have shockingly different perceptions of what the majority of voters in each party believes. Here are a few of the most glaring:

Among Those Who Talk Politics Daily or Nearly Every Day:

  • Fifty-nine percent (59%) think the majority of Republican voters support White Supremacy.
  • Just over half (51%) think that a majority of Republican voters want to cut Social Security.
  • Another 42% think most Republican voters oppose equal rights for women.

They also have wildly innacurate perceptions of the majority of Democratic voters:

  • Sixty percent (60%) believe that the majority of Democratic voters support biological males playing in women's sports.
  • Another 60% believe most Democratic voters celebrate abortions as a good thing.

None of these beliefs are in line with statistics. The group in this political bubble has dangerous delusions about what voters believe, and contribute to the reality of a 10%-80%-10% nation, where 10% on the extreme right and left are locked in a bitter struggle. The 80%, in contrast, are just trying to keep their heads down.

This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, February 26-27, 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
