  • Napolitan News asked voters which they considered to be the bigger problem: Too Much Fraudulent Spending, or Too Many People Not Getting the Help They Need--they were evenly divided.
    • Forty-five percent (45%) claim Fraudulent Spending is the bigger issue, while 46% claim the bigger problem is Too Many People Not Getting the Help They Need.
    • Unsurprisingly, two thirds (66%) of Republicans say fraudulent spending is the bigger problem, while 68% of Democrats disagree.
    • Narrow majorities of voters making more than $75,000 per year claim spending is the problem, while those making less disagree.
  • While voters are divided on the larger problem, there is clear consensus that it is more important to Make Sure People Get the Help They Need (51%) than to Stop Fraudulent Spending (41%).
    • Voters who prefer Trump-like policies overwhelmingly prefer to Stop Fraudulent Spending by a 70% to 23% margin, while Traditional Republican voters are split evenly.
    • Large majorities of voters who prefer AOC-type policies (83%) and Traditional Democratic voters (75%) place more importance on getting people the help they need.


This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, January 19-20 , 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
