  • Just 33% of voters favor sending in US ground troops to Iran if it were deemed necessary to complete regime change.
    • A majority (53%) are opposed to sending in ground troops.
    • These numbers include just 12% who Strongly Favor sending in troops, and 34% who Strongly Oppose it.
    • Voters who support Trump-like policies are the only group from our 4-Way Choice question with a majority (68%) in favor of using ground troops; just 28% of Traditional GOP voters agree.
  • As is often the case, voters with postgraduate degrees have markedly different opinions than other voters.
    • Voters with a postgraduate degree oppose sending in ground troops by a narrow, 47% to 43% margin.
    • All other voters oppose the idea by a much more decided 53% to 33% margin.
  • Meanwhile, half (50%) of voters say that regime change is at least Somewhat Likely to happen.
    • This is down from 55% the day of the attacks, but steady with results from just days after them.
    • Twenty-seven percent (27%) of voters say regime change is not likely to happen, while 23% are not sure.
  • Of those that say regime change is likely, two-thirds (64%) expect it to take at least a few months.
    • That group is divided among 25% who expect it to last a few weeks and 39% who say it will take a few months.


This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, March 9-10, 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
