Recent news stories have suggested that President Biden is considering a preemptive pardon for Administration officials including Dr. Anthony Fauci. A Napolitan News survey found that just 29% favor pardons for Biden Administration officials in general. That's very close to the 30% who approved of the pardon issued to Hunter Biden.
As for Dr. Fauci, just 32% believe he should be pardoned. Instead, most voters (52%) think his role in the pandemic and lockdowns should be investigated by Congress. Fifty-seven percent (57%) of Democrats believe Fauci should be pardoned. However, only 21% of Independents and 14% of Republicans agree.
Fauci is currently viewed favorably by 40% of voters and unfavorably by 44%. That's down from 46% favorable and 41% unfavorable in May. The current totals include 20% with a Very Favorable opinion and 23% with a Very Unfavorable view.
Just over half of all voters (53%) believe it's at least Somewhat Likely that Biden Administration officials will be unfairly prosecuted by the Trump Administration.
Voters are evenly divided as to whether Trump Administration officials were unfairly prosecuted by the Biden Administration-40% say yes and 43% say no.
The Napolitan News Service surveys of 1,000 Registered Voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen December 9-10, 2024. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. and has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
