  • Forty-four percent (44%) of registered voters approve of how SCOTUS performs its job, up 3 points after spending two months with its lowest rating since December of 2023.
    • Almost half (47%) of voters disapprove.
    • Those numbers include 11% who Strongly Approve, but 22% who Strongly Disapprove.
    • Sixty-seven percent (67%) of Republicans approve, but only 26% of Democrats approve.
  • More voters continue to believe that the court is too conservative rather than too liberal.
    • A plurality (38%) say too conservative, down 6 points from September but the same as August.
    • Just 19% say it is too liberal, which is up 3 points from September.
    • Twenty-nine percent (29%) say the ideological balance is about right. Among Republicans, a strong plurality (47%) hold that opinion.
  • Voters overwhelmingly believe that, when faced with a dispute between government regulations and individual freedom, the court supports regulation over freedom.
    • Just 18% say the court favors individual freedom more.
    • Forty-five percent (46%) believe it favors government regulations, while 24% say the balance is about right.
    • Republicans are split: 25% say the SCOTUS favors individual freedom, while 38% believe it favors government regulation and another 27% say the balance is about right.
    • Democrats overwhelmingly believe the court favors government regulations by a 55% to 12% margin.


This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, December 10-11, 2025. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
