  • The Supreme Court is currently weighing whether the tariffs can remain as is. Still, 45% approve of how President Trump is handling the tariff issue, and 51% disapprove.
    • This includes 23% who Strongly Approve and 38% who Strongly Disapprove.
    • Since May, approval has remained in the mid 40s, with a high of 48% in early June. Approval hit a low of 41% in April.
    • Since February, disapproval has remained within 3 points of 50%, except for a high of 54% disapproval in April.
    • Party lines show stark differences. An overwhelming majority of Republicans (82%) approve of how Trump is handling tariffs, but 86% of Democrats disapprove.
  • A large majority of voters (67%) know that President Trump's tariffs have already been in effect since August.
    • A small percentage (16%) believe they will go into effect soon, and 5% say they do not have a definite start date.
    • Younger voters (ages 18-34) are not quite as aware; only 50% knew the tariffs were in effect.
  • Looking ahead, 68% of voters say it is at least Somewhat Likely that deals will be reached with most countries around the world, up 7 points from July.
    • 28% of voters say it is Very Likely that new trade deals will be reached with most countries around the world, up 6 points, and 40% say it is Somewhat Likely, up 1 point.
    • Just one quarter (25%) say it is not likely deals will be reached.
    • Only 6% say it is Not at All Likely new trade deals will be reached; that is down 4 points from July.
    • Republicans are very optimistic, with 89% saying it is at least Somewhat Likely that new trade deals will be reached. Just over half (52%) of Democrats agree.
  • Three quarters (75%) of voters have followed recent news stories about tariffs at least Somewhat Closely, with 29% following the stories Very Closely.

This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, November 12-13, 2025. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
