When it comes to handling the California fires, Trump's numbers are even lower than Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass. Thirty-three percent (33%) rate the Mayor's response as good or excellent while 32% say poor. For Trump, those numbers are 34% good/excellent and 48% poor.
But a majority of California voters (52%) accepted Trump's claim that the state's policies restricting the availability of water played a significant role in making the wildfire's worse. Forty-one percent (41%) even said the policies played a bigger role than climate change.
This Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen February 10-12, 2025. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. and has a margin of error of +/- 3.5.
