  • On the top issues of the day, President Trump's numbers are heading south. Several issues have hit their lowest numbers of the president's second term.
    • Just 32% approve of how he's handling Inflation.
      • This is down 5 points from a month ago and down 16 from the beginning of his second term.
    • On the Economy (usually a very important issue for voters), just 37% approve of the way President Trump is handling it.
      • This is down 4 points from March, and down 10 from the beginning of his second term.
      • A solid majority (62%) disapprove, including 47% who Strongly Disapprove.
    • Amid the ongoing conflict with Iran, 48% approve of Trump's handling of National Security.
      • Again, the lowest of Trump's second term: down 1 point from a month ago and down 3 from when we started measuring that issue on its own in August.
      • Half (49%) disapprove of the handling of National Security.
  • Another important issue is Immigration, and 49% approve of Trump's handling in that area.
    • This is up 3 points from March, as memories of the confrontations in Minneapolis have faded from the news.
    • About half (49%) disapprove, including 42% who Strongly Disapprove.
  • Regarding Healthcare, just 40% approve of Trump's handling.
    • This is down 3 points from March, but up 3 points from February.
    • More than half (56%) disapprove of Trump's handling of Healthcare, including 44% who Strongly Disapprove.
    • Interestingly, only 3% recently rated Healthcare as most important in an open-ended question last week, and 10% said it was most important compared to other categories 2 weeks ago.
  • Being the party in the White House, large majorities of Republicans approve of President Trump's handling of every issue, and Democrats largely disapprove.
    • For example, 85% of Republicans approve of Trump's handling of Immigration, but 84% of Democrats disapprove.

This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, April 14-15, 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
