  • Fifty-four percent (54%) of voters say it is at least Somewhat Likely that the violence that erupted in Mexico after the recent killing of a drug cartel leader could spill over into the United States.
    • A Napolitan News survey found 41% say it is unlikely.
    • These numbers included 17% who called it Very Likely and 7% who called it Not At All Likely.
    • Fifty-six percent (56%) of Republicans say it is likely, along with 53% of Democrats, though Democrats are slightly more likely to say it is Very Likely.
  • Despite these concerns, 64% of voters approve of aiding Mexico through sharing intelligence for the operation.
    • Three quarters (76%) of Republicans support aiding Mexico through sharing intelligence, along with 53% of Democrats.
  • Similar tendencies about direct and indirect military involvement can be found on the situation in Iran, as well as the question of how voters want to fight the drug war at the southern border.


This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, February 25-26, 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
