  • Two thirds (67%) of voters say it is more important to keep the U.S. out of a wider war in the Middle East than it is to help Iranian protesters.
    • Only 23% believe helping Iranian civilians is the most important priority.
    • There is cross-party agreement on this issue with a majority of Republicans (59%) saying to keep the U.S. out, alongside 75% of Democrats and 66% of Independents.
  • Just one third (32%) of voters favor the idea of sending American troops into battle.
    • This is in contrast to 58% who oppose the idea, including the single largest group---those who Strongly Oppose at 33%.
    • Trump-policy voters support the involvement of US troops more than any other, but are still shy of a majority, with 48%, compared to 42% of Trump-policy voters who oppose.
  • Voters are far more optimistic on tariffs or the use of cyberattacks.
    • Fifty-six percent (56%) of voters favor these options moving forward, compared to just 28% who oppose.


This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, January 14-15, 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
