  • A strong majority (62%) of voters say policies to secure the border and deport illegal immigrants make America safer.
    • But 28% disagree and say the policies make America less safe.
    • An overwhelming 92% of Republicans say the policies make America safer.
    • Just 34% of Democrats say the policies make America safer, and 48% say the policies make the country less safe.
  • Overall, however, 43% of voters say America is safer than it was a year ago, while 54% say it is not.
    • One in 5 (20%) say it is Much Safer, but 35% say it is Much Less Safe.
    • Only 17% of Democrats say America is safer, and 80% say it is less safe.
    • On the other side of the aisle, 71% of Republicans say the country is safer, and only 26% say it is less safe.
    • Those who live in high density areas are split with 49% who say America is safer and 49% who say it is not.
  • Six in 10 (59%) say the world is less safe than it was a year ago.
    • About one third (37%) say the world is safer now.
    • Republicans are more optimistic; 62% say the world is safer, and only 34% say it is not.
    • Only 14% of Democrats say the world is safer, while 82% say it is not safer.
  • Half (50%) of voters say President Trump's approach to international affairs and foreign policy make America safer.
    • A close match of 47% say his approach makes America less safe.
    • As expected, 87% of Republicans say Trump's approach makes America safer, and only 11% say they make America less safe.
    • To the contrary, only 16% of Democrats say Trump's approach makes America safer, but 81% say they make America less safe.


This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, October 22, 2025. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
