  • Sixty-nine percent (69%) of voters at least Somewhat Favor a proposal that would require immigrants to demonstrate that they are able to speak English before entering the United States. Just 26% are opposed.
    • Those numbers include 39% who Strongly Favor the proposal and 12% who Strongly Oppose it.
  • An overwhelming 89% of Republicans at least Somewhat Favor the proposal, while Democrats are split.
    • Forty-nine percent (49%) of Democrats favor the proposal, while 44% oppose it.
    • A majority (54%) of voters who prefer AOC policies are opposed to the proposal, while 57% of voters favoring traditional Democratic policies at least Somewhat Support it.
  • Two thirds (67%) of voters believe that legal immigration is good, while illegal immigration is bad. This includes strong majorities of Republicans (77%) and Democrats (58%).
    • Another 17% consider legal and illegal immigration good.
    • Just 10% of voters consider legal (and illegal) immigration bad.
  • The total number of voters saying legal immigration is good for the United States (84%) has been steady for decades.


This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, November12-13, 2025. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
