  • Seventy-three percent (73%) of voters believe that the tariffs have caused the prices on consumer goods to go Up.
    • This is up 12 points since July and up 15 points since President Trump began talking about tariffs in February.
    • Only 9% believe that prices have gone Down because of the tariffs.
    • Just 12% say the tariffs have had No Impact on prices.
    • Nearly three quarters (73%) of Democrats believe that consumer goods' prices have gone Up because of the tariffs, and 60% of Republicans agree.
  • A plurality of voters (48%) say the tariffs have been bad for the economy, while 42% say they have been good. 
    • Despite all the panic and posturing, opinions on this topic have hardly moved since we asked voters about tariffs starting in February*.
    • In February, 42% of voters said Trump's tariff plans would be good for the economy, while 45% said they would be bad.
    • In April, pessimism about tariffs reached its peak, with just 36% saying they would be good for the economy and 52% saying they would be bad.

*Before tariffs went into effect, all questions were asked as "If implemented, would President Trump's tariff plan..."


This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, November 12-13, 2025. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
