  • Eight in 10 voters (81%) favor the proposal to require voters to show photo ID before being allowed to vote.
    • This is down 6 points from August 2024.
    • Currently, 56% Strongly Favor the idea.
    • Fifteen percent (15%) oppose requiring voters to show photo ID before voting.
    • An overwhelming majority (93%) of Republicans favor a photo ID requirement for voting.
    • By a margin of 72% to 22%, Democrats also favor the proposal.
    • Majorities of Whites (82%), Blacks (77%), and Hispanics (81%) favor a requirement to show photo ID before voting.
  • If a state allows illegal immigrants to get a driver's license, 71% think those licenses should clearly indicate that the person is not a U.S. citizen.
    • This is down 4 points since August 2024.
    • One in 5 voters (19%) do not agree, and 10% are Not Sure.
    • Eighty-six percent (86%) of Republicans say the licenses should indicate citizenship, and 66% of Democrats agree.
    • A smaller majority (58%) of younger voters aged 18 to 34 agree with licenses clearly indicating non-citizenship.


This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, February 4-5, 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
