  • While the nation has been following the shooting of Renee Good with a level of interest rarely seen, it has not not had much impact on voters' perception of ICE or its mission.
  • Overall, 56% of voters approve of ICE's mission to deport illegal immigrants, while 39% disapprove.
    • That is little changed from November, when 58% approved and 36% disapproved.
    • Republicans overwhelmingly approve by an 85% to 11% margin, while Democrats take the opposite stance and disagree by a 73% to 23% margin.
  • Currently, 50% of voters say they at least Somewhat Approve of ICE, while 44% disapprove.
    • In November, 53% approved, while 39% disapproved.
    • An overwhelming 93% of voters who support Trump-like policies approve of ICE.
    • Voters who prefer Traditional Republican policies agree by a 65% to 31% margin.
    • Unsurprisingly, voters who prefer policies like those of AOC oppose ICE by a 79% to 20% margin.
    • Those prefering Traditional Democratic policies oppose the organization by an 85% to 13% margin.
  • A solid plurality (43%) blame the Trump Administration for the increased heat in the discussion of ICE and immigration.
    • Another 28% blame Democratic politicians, while 22% blame both equally.


This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, January 11-12, 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
