  • In the full month of April, 45% considered themselves Democrats or leaned Democrat, while 43% of voters considered themselves Republican or leaned Republican.
    • The number for Democrats has been 45% since January, but the Republicans are down 1 point from February and March.
    • Since January, the Democrats have led by at least 1 point, and this month, they lead by 2.
    • When leaners are removed, the Democrats and Republicans are even at 36%.
  • From November 2024 through December 2025, Republicans held a party edge every month, except in April 2025, when tariffs were announced.
