  • If the election were held today, 43% of registered voters say they would vote for the Republican from their district, and 44% say they would vote for the Democrat.
    • When leaners are included, the Democrats maintain a 1-point advantage, 47% to 46%.
    • Republicans have had the advantage for several months, except last August when the Democrats and Republicans were even.
    • The Democrats haven't had an advantage since last May when they led by 3 at 48% to 45%.
  • Among those Very Enthusiastic about voting in the Congressional elections this year, Democrats still lead Republicans 43% to 35%.
    • Last month, overall, more voters were Very Enthusiastic (50% D's and 48% R's).
    • Those who are Very Enthusiastic are most likely to turn out and cast a ballot.
    • Among voters who prefer Trump-like policies, 43% are Very Enthusiastic. That's comparable to enthusiasm among Democrats and voters who prefer AOC-like policies.
    • Among those who prefer more traditional Republican policies, just 21% are Very Enthusiastic.
    • Senior voters over 65 are the most enthusiastic age group to vote, with 49% Very Enthusiastic. Just 26% of 18- to 34-year-old voters are Very Enthusiastic.
    • The largest majority (74%) of Very Enthusiastic voters are those who talk politics every day or almost daily.


This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 2,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, January 5-8, 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
