  • When asked to respond in their own words, 30% of voters say the economy is the most important issue right now.
    • Among 2,000 Registered Voters, politics (25%), immigration (16%), and social issues (9%) also ranked highly.
    • Healthcare (7%), foreign policy (5%), and climate (2%) are far less commonly at the top of voters' minds.
    • For Republicans, the top three issues identified as most important were economy (31%), politics (24%), and immigration (17%).
    • For Democrats, the top three issues were economy (28%), politics (25%), and immigration (16%).
    • These results are following a trend seen in our most recent October 12th poll, where the economy is on top, but has steadily decreased from early August highs of 40%.
  • There are many ways to ask about the importance of issues. Napolitan News routinely asks an open-ended question that is categorized and summarized by using Jigsaw's open-source Sensemaker tool, which built on to of Gemini, Google's most advanced AI so that voters can answer the question in their own words.
