  • Just 18% of registered voters think America will be More Unified a year from today.
    • A plurality (36%) say it will be More Polarized, while about a third (34%) say it will be About the Same.
    • Those numbers are similar to October, when 17% said America will be more unified, though more (43%) said it would be more polarized.
  • Thirty-three percent (33%) of voters who prefer Trump policies say the country will be more unified.
    • Just 8% of voters who prefer traditional Republican policies say the same, lower than the 14% of voters who prefer AOC policies and another 14% who prefer traditional Democratic policies.
  • The most optimistic voters have been about being more unified in Trump's second term is 23%.
    • This occurred in March of 2025, shortly after he took office.


This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, January 7-8, 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
