The recent arrest and detaining of Mahmoud Khalil has raised questions about free speech and first amendment rights. Just 32% of Americans believe a foreign student should be expelled from the country for attending a pro-Palestinian protest. Fifty-one percent (51%) disagree. 

However, a solid majority (58%) believe that if a college is unable or unwilling to protect Jewish students from anti-semitism, the school should lose federal funding.

The Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters nationwide was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen March 18-19, 2025. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. and has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
