  • When informed that the Constitution says all treaties with other nations must be ratified by the Senate, just 37% say agreements like the Paris Accords should be legally binding.
    • A plurality (43%) say they should not be, while a significant number (21%) are undecided.
  • As they are on many issues, voters with postgraduate degrees are out of step with the rest of the country.
    • A narrow majority (51%) of postgraduates say the Paris Accords should be legally binding, compared to just 37% of those with a bachelor's and 33% of those with no degree.
  • When asked if we should abide by international agreements or make decisions based on America's unique needs 65% of those with a postgraduate degree say we should follow international agreements.
    • In contrast, 48% of those with a bachelor's, and 45% of those with no degree agree.
  • Still, in general, voters are more open to following international agreements on environmental issues than they are on other issues.
    • A plurality (49%) say we should follow international agreements, while 41% say we should make decisions based on America's unique needs.
