  • A scant 19% of registered voters even claim to know what a J-1 Visa is.
  • A J-1 Visa is a U.S. Visa issued to people who are approved to enter the United States to participate in work- or study-based exchange programs.
    • To receive a J-1 Visa, individuals must have a sponsor and are only approved to work or study in the United States for a limited period as part of a cultural exchange.
  • After learning what a J-1 Visa is, 78% favor issuing it.
    • One third (36%) Strongly Favor it.
    • Just 16 % oppose issuing J-1 Visas.
    • The parties are fairly aligned, with 85% of Democrats and 71% of Republicans favoring the issuing of J-1 Visas.


This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, March 18-19, 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
