Less than 2 weeks out from the midterms, President Trump's approval on 6 of the top 10 issues is in the 30's.

Economic concerns always top voter lists, and right now just 36% of voters approve of President Trump's handling of the economy, down 3 points from September and 2 from August. Meanwhile, 61% disapprove, up 4 points from September and up 2 points from August. Those numbers include 14% who Strongly Approve and 46% who Strongly Disapprove.

Six-in-10 Tradtional GOP (58%) voters disapprove of his handling of the economy, up from 49% in September.

On the related subset of inflation, just 30% approve, while 65% disapprove. That is 1 point from an all-time low. Approval fell 6 points from September, and disapproval rose by 5.

At least 60% have disapproved of the president's handling of this topic since February, 2026.

Immigration and Healthcare

Forty-eight percent (48%) approve of the president on his signature issue of immigration, which is up 3 points from last month. Still, he is underwater: 49% disapprove.

The president fares worse on health care: just 37% approve, while 57% disapprove. Health care has been voters' number 3 issue on our standard list since May.

Other Top Issues

This month, the only issues the president's approval improved on was immigration (3 points to 48%) and crime (up 4 points to 47%).

*There are many ways to ask about the importance of issues. Napolitan News routinely uses a standard list in addition to asking for open-ended responses every week. Economic issues routinely top both lists by wide margins, though the open-ended responses are slightly more fluid and respond more to current events.

This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, October 19-20, 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
