    • Just one quarter of voters (26%) say it is working as intended to make healthcare more affordable.
  • While it is plausible to blame the increasing premiums on Congress letting the Affordable Care Act subsidies expire, voters are actually quite adamant that they want less government control in their healthcare.
    • By a 2-to-1 margin, voters say Too Much Government Control (55%) is a larger problem than Not Enough Government Control (28%).
    • Republicans say the problem is Too Much Government Control by a 60% to 19% margin.
    • Democrats agree by a 51% to 35% margin.
  • As is often the case, voters with a postgraduate degree feel differently than the rest of the nation.
    • Voters with a postgraduate degree are evenly split, with 42% saying Too Much Government Control is the bigger problem, and 42% disagreeing.
    • The rest of voters say that Too Much Government Control is the problem by a 58% to 26% margin.
    • In line with the lessening of government control, more than 8 in 10 (83%) believe that individual Americans should be allowed to purchase any insurance product approved by their state's health insurance commissioner.
  • Just 40% of all voters are aware that more than half of all healthcare spending in the United States is paid for by the government.
    • Another 40% believe that statement is false, while 20% admit they do not know.
    • Republicans know that it is True by a 49% to 28% margin.
    • Democrats believe it is False by a margin of 49% to 32%.
