  • If a legal immigrant commits a crime in the US, strong majorities support revoking their legal status and deporting them.
    • If a legal immigrant commits assault ninety percent (90%) of voters support deportation.
    • High levels of support also exist for deportation if the legal immigrant commits burglary (84%) and driving under the influence (64%).
  • Levels drop, however, for deporting those who protest in support of Palestinian groups (46%).
    • Forty percent (40%) of those surveyed believed you should not be deported for supporting Palestinian groups.
  • Fifty-two (52%) of voters believe that every deportation case should be reviewed individually.
    • Forty-six percent (46%) disagree, and believe it's more important to just revoke visas in every case of a violation.
  • Sixty-four (64%) of voters believe those who overstay their visas should be deported.
    • Only twenty-three percent (23%) of voters are against the proposed deportations.
  • It is important to remember that for decades, voters have viewed legal immigration as good, and illegal immigration as bad.
    • The latest numbers show that 83% consider legal immigration good for the country, and 84% consider illegal immigration bad.
