  • Currently, 40% of voters approve of the way SCOTUS is performing its job, while 53% disapprove.
    • These numbers include 12% who Strongly Approve and 26% who Strongly Disapprove.
    • Approval by all voters is down 8 points from early March.
    • Republicans approve by a margin of 59% to 33%, while Democrats disapprove by a margin of 74% to 22%.
  • A plurality (37%) still consider the court to be too conservative, which is up 2 points from March.
    • Just 23% say it is too liberal, and 27% say it is about right.
    • Republican voters are divided: 37% say the balance is about right, 37% say it's too liberal, and only 15% say it's too conservative.
    • Democratic voters are more unified: 60% say the court is too conservative, 11% say it's too liberal, and 16% say the balance is about right.
  • Most voters believe that the court supports regulation over freedom when it is faced with a dispute between government regulations and individual freedom.
    • Forty-one percent (41%) believe it favors government regulations.
    • Just 15% say the court favors individual freedom more.
    • Just under a third (29%) say the court equally supports individual freedom and regulations.
    • A majority (52%) of Democrats say the court supports regulations over freedom, and only 34% of Republicans agree.


This data is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen, April 14-15, 2026. RMG Research, Inc., conducted the field work for the survey. It has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
