Forty-two percent (42%) of voters have been very closely following news stories about the deportation of illegal immigrants.
Thirty-nine percent (39%) have been very closely following news about the war between Russia and Ukraine. Nothing else comes close to that level of interest.
For comparison, recent surveys have show that 31% are very closely following news about tariff policies and trade negotiations, 25% paid that much attention to news about the release of an American hostage and 24% to the president's plan to reduce pharmaceutical drug costs.
Still lower in terms of interest, were stories about the Qatari jet (20%), the new pope (19%), pro-Palestinian protests on college campuses (18%), refugees from South Africa (17%), the conflict between India and Pakistan (14%), and Judge Jeanine Pirro (10%).
The most recent data cited is from a Napolitan News Service survey of 1,000 Registered Voters conducted online by Scott Rasmussen May 14-15, 2025. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. and has a margin of error of +/- 3.1.
