Voters Favor Congressional Reviews

Publication: 05/05/2025 8:25 AM CST

Sixty-two percent (62%) of voters favor congressional reviews of any executive order. A Napolitan News survey found that only 21% are opposed. Voters also strongly support a requirement for Congress to review any major regulation before implementation.

However, a New York Times article raises questions and concerns about the Congressional Review Act, That act is currently being used by Republicans to unwind some of the final regulations issued by the Biden Administration.

In the article, Congressman Frank Pallone Jr. (D-NJ) complains that the precedent Republicans are setting "would mean countless numbers of executive actions made across the federal government would be at the mercy of the political winds of a vocal few in Congress."

What Pallone sees as letting executive orders and regulations being subject to "political whims" in Congress is what voters see as a system of Constitutional checks and balances.
